Some days, I just feel like I need to sit alone in a corner, eat pizza rolls, and just listen to the sound of the fan whirring in a room somewhere..

I’m just thinking maybe we should try to elect somebody who hasn’t gone bankrupt six separate times and has a platform consisting of more than ‘fuck mexico’.

When I was little,my mom told me to find someone who never ceases to amaze me. I always thought she meant someone who surprises me and spoils me. Going through relationships as a 14-17 year old was really difficult, because the surprises I got from boyfriends was abuse,and being spoiled meant I was left alone for a couple hours. I ended up believing that was how love was..until my long distance best friend became my boyfriend almost a year ago.
This morning we are moving into our new place together, and when I woke up to get dressed, he woke up a little,smiled,and told me “you are my sunshine” before snuggling back into the covers. He never ceases to amaze me with the little things he says to make me feel like I’m special and loved. I believe that’s what my mom meant all those years ago, and I finally have a new perspective on what love truly is.
